i
see the
wind-burned doors
hastily locked
rust; holding away
this strange, soft velvety
thing that can only be love
though you keep it without water
it blossoms, unfurls nonetheless
to hope, perfume and resuscitate you;
That's the stuff of my succinct little dream
i see vulnerable, not rusty
i see hopeful youth and vigor
softness, not wind-hardened;
able, and willing to
be foolish again
grab gift of love
see that i'm
without
barbs.

I love this...first of all I enjoy etheree so much--fun to read and write. Beautiful rendition of the prompt.

Three awards for you, I value your participation at Jingle poetry during past weeks, hope to see you again tonight. Our theme is love and romance, have fun sharing! xxx
nice poem.. :)
Being foolish - yes, that's what it's all about, isn't it? Certainly romance is, I believe. Couple who stay together for years never lose the ability to be 'foolish' and keep their love young.
Nice double etheree - I may have to try that form.
I came for the Poetry Potluck... I Followed for the haiku.
