Go Optimistic

An optimistic piece for Haiku-Heights' prompt of that same important quality.

A paper kite in the rain
Can still soar so bright.

You know I am a huge fan of you work, and this is a great example of why! Kites in the rain? Girl you make it so easy to understand optimism just love it!

Paper kites may fly high in the rain, but not for very long.

You can blindly dive into the water, totally optimistic that it's deep, but you'll still hit your head on that rock you didn't see.

Optimism is good, but it's even better when seasoned with Reason.

Good point, Eric. Yes, a paper kite can soar in the rain, but not for very long. But when all you are is paper ... there's nothing you can do but embrace your "paperness," right? You shouldn't cower indoors, either. :-)

This was actually inspired by a friend of mine who just found out she has MS. I hope that she is able to stay as bright and optimistic, and soldier on living her life despite news that could really take a toll on her life.

Thanks Uma and Amanda for your comments, too!

aaahhh...optimism is a hard quality for me to hold onto unless I absorb it from those who create it, therefore, thank you for this creation, Christine.

And thanks for visiting my one shot this week entitled Hold My Hand
