Belongings, Home

Image: kinly at DeviantArt.com
Liquidate my life
Shed belongings of roof, bed
Fly to a new Home.

Written for Sensational Haiku Wednesday (belong or belonging) and for  ABC Wednesday (using the letter H; which makes me think of Home).

LOVE the name of your blog!!!

Welcome aboard, Christine - so happy to have you with us for Sensational Haiku Wednesdays. We have a great circle happening, and there is always room for more.

New beginnings are oft scary - belongings are easy to replace (and sometimes shedding them is freeing!) but "belonging" can be harder to achieve.

You definitely belong with us!

Well done :)

your haiku can be anticipating, hoping, or scary. All of which my daughter recently felt going off to school.

Christine you're a doll, thanks for the mention! Liquidate my life! Great first line, it sounds ominous without sounding depressing, I really liked this Haiku!

Aaaah, if only I could! But I am an inveterate squirrel and can never throw stuff away. Must. Learn!

On behalf of the team, thanks for taking part in ABC Wednesday this week! :)

Thank you everybody for your wonderful comments. It just made my morning. And yes, Ria, this poem was inspired in part by my going far away to school. :-) I realized on the plane that I had no keys: no keys to anything at all! Roger, thanks for the awesome haiku! They are addictive and fun to me; maybe you will find the same. :-)
